Founded over 27 years ago by Dave Robinson, a father of five, our story began with a simple passion for helping families create order and harmony in their homes. Dave’s journey into the closet organization business began in the late 1980s, when a friend from the very first international California Closets franchise in Vancouver invited him to help with installations. From that moment, he was hooked — the craftsmanship, creativity, and satisfaction of transforming cluttered spaces into functional, beautiful ones became his calling.

As he worked with homeowners, he noticed a gap in the market for consistent, high-quality closet manufacturing. His solution was to build it himself — leading to the creation of Sherwood Shelving, our in-house manufacturing partner. Together, we’ve refined every step of the process to ensure that what arrives in your home is smooth, durable, and beautifully finished.
Over the years, Excel Organizers has grown from a small family operation into a dedicated team of professionals who share the same commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and customer care. Today, Dave continues to work alongside his wife Annie, as part of a talented group of designers, builders, and installers who take pride in delivering exceptional storage solutions for every space.
